COURSE CONTENT

Students follow the Edexcel A Level Business specification, covering key functional areas of business and strategic decision-making.

Core areas include:

  • Marketing and people

  • Managing business activities

  • Business decisions and strategy

  • Global business

Components:

  • Paper 1: Marketing, People and Global Businesses

  • Paper 2: Business Activities, Decisions and Strategy

  • Paper 3: Investigating Business in a Competitive Environment (synoptic)

All papers are 2 hours and include data response, short answer and extended essay questions.

Students are assessed regularly through:

  • End-of-topic tests

  • Data response and essay questions

  • Mock examinations

CURRICULUM INTENT & VISION

The Business Studies curriculum aims to develop students into analytical, confident and entrepreneurial thinkers who understand how businesses operate in dynamic local, national and global contexts. Through the study of real-world organisations, students will build a strong foundation in decision-making, problem-solving and critical evaluation.

Students are encouraged to think commercially, ethically and strategically, developing an awareness of how businesses respond to opportunities and threats. The course equips learners with transferable skills such as data analysis, financial literacy, communication and independent thinking, preparing them for higher education and future careers in business and beyond.
